About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in California (PSY 32804 ) working with children, adolescents, adults and families. I received my doctorate from Fuller School of Psychology along with a masters in psychology and theology, placing an emphasis on the intersection of spirituality and culture into the practice of psychotherapy. I also hold a masters degree in special education from Loyola Marymount University, which I obtained during my time as a special education teacher. I completed my APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of Southern California Counseling and Mental Health Center, and my post-doctoral fellowship at the Kortschak Center for Learning and Creativity at the University of Southern California.

I have experience working in private practice, public schools, college counseling centers, outpatient hospitals, and community mental health clinics. I have clinical training in psychoanalytic therapy, emotion-focused individual and family therapy, somatic experiencing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and play therapy. I am also trained in neuropsychological and psychoeducational testing through UCLA Semel/The Help Group, considered to be one of the top training sites in the nation. Finally, my training in counseling and special education has created the opportunity for me to work as an educational therapist. An educational therapist is someone who supports clients with learning disabilities or challenges to optimize their potential through counseling and academic interventions. Some academic interventions that I have specific training in are Lindamood Bell phonics and mathematics instruction, Words Their Way and Handwriting Without Tears.

On a personal note, I truly love being a therapist. I see each client’s unique qualities and intersecting identities as strengths and feel a sense of joy in being a part of each person’s journey toward growth and healing.

In case terminology is helpful, the following have been especially influential for my theoretical/conceptual approach to therapy: relational psychoanalysis, object relations, attachment based, internal family systems and somatic experiencing.

Specialties

While I am experienced in treating a host of presenting issues, several clinical specialties have arisen from personal and professional experiences. Below is a list of some of these focus areas. If you are interested in receiving help for something not on this list, please reach out and we can determine if we are a good match.
